Osmosis Treatment
After conducting over a decade of thorough and successfully proven treatments, we are proud to offer a guaranteed HOTVAC Hull Care osmosis treatment and prevention. We understand that high moisture levels or blistering can be disheartening. However, we ensure that the maximum amount of moisture is removed and the best system is re-applied for future osmosis prevention.

Stage 1 - Peeling and Prep
Using a specialist peeling process, we first strip away the entirety of the coatings that have been applied to the hull which trap the moisture in i.e antifoul, copper coat etc We then repeat the process to take off the layers of fiberglass matt containing the osmosis blisters. By thoroughly removing the layers, it allows for the drying process to eradicate an increased quantity of moisture.

Stage 2 - HotVac Hull Drying
Once we are satisfied that the peeling process has been adequately completed, we move onto the drying stage of the treatment. Although there are many tecniques for drying the hull, we have invested into a state of art HotVac machine that ensures the maximum amount of moisture is pulled from the hull. This is achieved by placing “pads” onto the hull which reach extreme temperatures and run for long durations.

Stage 3 - Re Apply Strength
When the HotVac treatment is complete and the moisture readings are within satisfactory tolerances, we proceed with applying strength back into your hull. We start off by applying multiple layers of fiberglass using high strength epoxy resin. To ensure the best adhesion, we follow this with a thick application of 2 part epoxy filler. Once cured, we sand the filler to put the shape back into bottom of the hull.

Stage 4 - Apply Coatings
The final stage of the treatment is to apply the hull coatings of your choice. To protect the systems applied in the first stages, we always start with a multi coat, 2 part epoxy system to add a final protection against moisture. We can then finish with anything from traditional antifoul to modern systems such as Silic One.
